OUR TEACHERS




Dr Moni Lai Storz
(nee' Lai Suan Tin) is an Associate of Monash Mt Eliza Business School, Monash University. Dr Storz spent many years researching and experimenting with accelerated learning methods for the teaching and training of a range of subjects - Sociology, Stress Management, Cross-cultural Communication skills, Learning skills, etc. She was the first to apply Accelerated Learning techniques to the teaching of Chinese writing in Australia and this has been documented in her book: MIND BODY POWER:THE SELF HELP BOOK ON ACCELERATED LEARNING (Times Books International, Singapore, 1989, Reprinted 1990, 1993)
Dr Storz claims that accelerated learning techniques have increased her creativity and expanded her consciousness. She writes fiction as a hobby. Her published works include, Notes To My Sisters (Times Books), Artworks of The Soul (GBS), Heaven Has Eyes (Monash Int.), Switch on Your Mind (Allen & Unwin). Her books can be obtained from our Shopfront. Moni founded this Chinese Centre 14 years ago and is now currently our Academic Director and Principal.



Dr Fei You
finished her Master in Banking and Finance in Loughborough University (Leicestershire) in 2004. She finished her PhD in London 2009. Fei comes from Shanghai. Have been teaching for ECCS for 6 years. With her academic achievement and teaching experience, she is very confident in teaching Mandarin Chinese with a passion and has a great sense of humor.




Hai Hong Tian
is a qualified teacher originally from Yue Yang Teachers' Institute, in the province of Hunan. She completed her Montessori International Diploma Course at the Maria Montessori Institute. She is keenly interested in music, singing and dancing and is very good at Chinese Calligraphy. Tian has been in London for the past 5 years and has now joined ECCS to be one of our Chinese teachers.





Vivi Huang
finished her Masters degree from Cass Business School London. Vivi comes from Shanghai. She taught children English when she was in China. She loves teaching Chinese Mandarin and enjoys sharing her knowledge on the Chinese culture.




Jennifer Li was born and raised in Scotland. Graduated with LLB Scots Law. She came to London in 2007 and have recently completed her conversion into English Law. She speaks and writes Cantonese and have taught Cantonese for five years, preparing the students for GCSE and A-Level Chinese. In her spare time she enjoys reading, doing yoga and web design.




Huntley Tan
finished his Master degree in MSc Investment Management from CASS Business School. He is fro Huizhou, Guangdong province. He is very interested in Chinese culture, Tai Chi, Calligraphy, Chinese cooking and Chinese medicine. With academic achievement and a passion in everything Chinese which he will bring to his classes.



Wenqiao Wang
comes from Beijing. She speaks standard Mandarin which is based on the Beijing dialect. She believes that the three thousand years Chinese culture is fascinating and she hopes that during her classes she can share them with the students.




Rui Zhang
comes from Beijing and he has been in the UK for four years. He has a real passion in teaching and is an energetic speaker. He is interested in ancient Chinese philosophy and is happy to share Chinese culture with his students.





Rachel Yao
Law graduate from UCL. She enjoys teaching Chinese Mandarin as well as sharing exotic Chinese culture with her students. She has been with ECCS for five years and is now the principle teacher. She is a very effective teacher.




Daisy Luo
comes from Guangdong Province where she has been brought up to speak both Cantonese and Mandarin. She taught Chinese Mandarin for awhile in Hong Kong and China before coming to the United Kingdom. She has a real passion in teaching. She teaches Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese for ECCS. She has been trained by ECCS 'Teaching Mandarin and Cantonese using Accelerated Teaching Methods'. Her interests in culture, cooking, dancing and sports have certainly helped her to be one of the most helpful and dedicated teachers.




Dawn Chen Wang
is a qualified musician. As a dynamic and versatile musician she has been involved in the Chinese community and the promotion of Chinese culture. She also has bout seven years experience of teaching Mandarin in Edinburgh and London. She is a creative and motivated person and she brings a lot of fun into the class. She says that 'I have learnt that if one is relaxed or joyful when learning, one learns faster and retains the information longer.




Shirley Xue
 is from Beijing. She has been in the UK for five years. She is very passionate about teaching Mandarin and sharing Chinese culture with her students. In addition, she speaks fluent Japanese and Korean as well as conversational Spanish, and therefore she understands the difficulties in learning a foreign language.




Candy Li
graduated from Teachers' College of Foreign Languages and Art in China. She was a full time teacher in Guangzhou, China. And since she moved to England in 2006, she has been teaching Mandarin Chinese to students at different levels. Her teaching philosophy is: Teaching should be fun and effective!




Michelle Wu
Tian Yin Wu was born in Shanghai and has been living and studying in the UK for more than 10 years. She graduated from the University of Bristol in 2009 and has recently completed her LPC at the College of Law in London. She has experience of teaching English to both school children and adults at language schools in Shanghai. She loves Chinese history and culture. She aims to make learning Mandarin a fun and interactive experience for her students.




Valli Lai is the Executive Director of the ECCS. She was originally from Malaysia and has been living and working in England for the past 30 years. Her background is in management and marketing and is also currently the director of Ensemble Corporation, a highly succesful organisation in corporate interiors. Ensemble won the Inner City award in 2002.

She has a passion on the workings of the human mind. She spent years reading and researching on how the mind works. She has a good understanding of the unconscious learning. Her philosophy in life is 'The mind is amazing and there is nothing we cannot learn, the only thing that stops us is our ego'.
